Meanwhile, in Weston, Kate Kelley finds inspiration of a very different sort. “The concept is modern Arts and Crafts,” says the designer, who is known for her crisp and clean approach. For the primary bath in this custom new build, Kelley paid homage to the Arts and Crafts movement’s principles of using authentic materials and simple forms. “These handmade cement tiles by Popham Design are not perfectly consistent; there’s a lot of depth,” Kelley says. 2021 - This Chic Natick Hangout Space Was Once a Horse Barn - Boston Magazine
It was the candy-apple-red horse barn that first drew Kate Kelley and her husband to their forever home, set on a pastoral property in Natick. Horse stalls occupied the 650-square-foot, dirt-floor structure, but it had running water and electricity, and the shell was in good shape. With sons ages 10, 14, and 16, the couple knew the barn would make a stellar hangout space; it just needed work. [More]

2018 - IIDA Award For Best Residential Design Honors Earned
Hacin and Associates as well as Kate Kelley were awarded Best Private Residential Design for the second year in a row by the annual International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) New England Chapter Design Awards! The Public Garden Townhouse was honored with this award by a jury who cited the project’s respect of original historic details while introducing modern design.

ID Boston Magazine: Built in 1890, this six-story townhouse in the historic South End was re-imagined for a family with two young boys, seeking a new home in which to grow and establish community roots. Purchased as two separate units, H+A restored the townhouse to its original use as a single-family home.
